The Shadowed Ones -sonnet-
The Shadowed Ones
The Shadowed Ones, those arrogant, dumb beasts,
Devouring all for time immemorial.
Wrenched from their illusionary throne as feasts.
Abruptly torn asunder, fled still to Denial.
The Oppression came as but a torrent,
Filled with Suffering and fueled by Death,
They then realized the horrid plan the Gods sent;
To death they would go without another breath.
"Why must it be us? Why must it be now?
What did we do to deserve such an end?"
Doubt and Anguish spread, new seeds the Gods plowed;
Done with the Ones that made the world not mend.
As Hope vanished and the beasts withered yet,
The Shadowed Ones ended with screa
